About M.M. Winkler & Associates, P.A.
Marion Mayers Winkler founded the Firm in Tupelo, Mississippi as a sole proprietorship in 1935. M.M. Winkler came to Tupelo from New Orleans, Louisiana, where he had been associated with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst, to establish his Firm as one of the first certified public accounting firms in north Mississippi. His energy, devotion to work and high quality standards established the reputation of M.M. Winkler & Associates with individuals and the business community throughout northeast Mississippi. Mr. Winkler was with the Firm until his death on December 7, 1979.
The Firm became a partnership as new partners were admitted. Over the years, M.M. Winkler expanded to a regional firm with offices in Oxford, Yazoo City, Houston, Olive Branch, Hernando, and Southaven, Mississippi and Decatur and Hartselle, Alabama. The Firm saw numerous partners and staff persons come and go as many set up their own professional practices or started new careers in industry.
In 1982, the Firm underwent a major reorganization which resulted in the acquisition of the Tupelo, MS office by three Tupelo partners. Other partners at the time retained their respective offices as separate professional practices. A second office was opened in Pontotoc, Mississippi in 1989.
Today, M.M. Winkler & Associates is a professional limited liability company with three members. Bill E. Morgan, CPA and Joe D. Cash, CPA administer the Tupelo office, while Okee L. McDonald, CPA oversees the Pontotoc location. The firm continues in its history of commitment to high standards and quality service to meet the needs of a wide variety of clients all across northeast Mississippi.
